Maintaining your node and sensors is important for ensuring optimal hardware performance and reliability. To help you keep your hardware in excellent condition, it is recommended to follow a standard maintenance checklist. This checklist serves as a guide for conducting regular inspections and troubleshooting potential issues.
Start by recording general information about each node, such as name and location. This will help you track the maintenance history and identify nodes that require attention. Should you require a sitemap of your nodes, please contact The Yield Support team.
Perform visual checks on the nodes, looking for any physical damage, loose connections, or signs of wear. Inspect the antenna and cables for any visible issues that could impact signal transmission (e.g. overgrown foliage, cut cabling, bent antenna). Ensure that the node is securely mounted and positioned correctly.
Next, focus on the sensors. Verify the sensor connections and inspect them for damage, dirt/debris. Clean the sensors if necessary (e.g. a rain bucket would benefit from a regular weekly clean).
By systematically following these steps, you can efficiently identify and address any problems that may arise.
