In this article, we will guide you through assembling a sensor node, step by step. To make it even easier, we have included a helpful video demonstration that you can watch along with the instructions.
Here's a step-by-step guide on assembling the node:
-
Unbox the node and familiarize yourself with the components. The sensor node is reflective with a reflective panel for visibility in the field. Take note of the Mac address located on the front of the node, as it is essential for identifying the node in the system.
-
Locate the antenna port and unlock it using the provided lock. There are several port numbers visible underneath, including four black circles representing the digital ports, a rain cloud icon, and a wind icon representing the analog ports.
-
To attach the battery, ensure that the solar panel is facing sunlight or some form of light. The battery has a raised part with cabling underneath. Place that raised part towards the top corner of the node to allow the cable to reach the port. Connect the battery while ensuring there is light on the solar panel.
-
Switch on the node by moving the on/off switch. You should hear a beep and see a green flash, indicating that the node is powered on.
-
Keep in mind that the batteries may not come fully charged. Place the nodes near the gateway in the sun to allow them to charge while the electrician installs the gateway.
-
The node has a dual seal system to prevent insects from entering. Remove the rubber seal to expose the inner seal. If you find insects past the second seal, contact support. The cables go through the seals and up into the corresponding ports.
-
Screw on the antenna to the designated port, ensuring it is finger-tight.
-
Attach the bird perch, which prevents birds from facing the solar panel and soiling it. To remove the bird perch, pull vertically with force.
-
Mount the node using the plastic bracket. Unlock the lever mechanism on the bracket and insert the Ubolt into the designated ingress. Slide the bracket onto the mounting frame until it clicks into place.
-
To remove the node from the bracket, twist the lever mechanism to the side and slide it off. If the bracket is attached to the frame, use a screwdriver to lift the node slightly and then slide it off.
By following these steps, you can successfully assemble the node. If you have any questions or encounter any issues, please reach out to our Support Team.
